Artist Statement:

Jellyfish are one of the few creatures who actually benefit from climate change. The warming waters have increased their numbers dramatically, to the detriment of other marine life and humans. They have disrupted power generation in several locations by clogging piping in underwater cooling systems; the moon jellyfish being a particular culprit. They have few predators and are competing with smaller fish for food. They also eat fish eggs, further depleting fish populations. Their increasing numbers are also a danger to humans swimming in oceans. Some species can even kill humans in a matter of minutes.

Jamie Graham is an artist living in Waco, TX. She focuses mainly on textiles but works in other mediums as well.
