Artist Statement:

     My painting, A Convenient Ignorance, aims to display the consequences of our everyday life. In society’s wanting for comfortability and convenience, we tear down the world around us. Even the seemingly smallest conveniences such as plastic water bottles and chic $1 belts add up to become environmental tragedies. It is important to remember that everything has a price. We may think that just because we cannot see firsthand the consequences of our actions that there are none. However, fire and floods are right outside our windows. We just tend to be too ignorant to notice.
